The Chinese Super League (CSL) season got underway on Sunday with a thrilling opening match between two of the league's top teams, Sanzhen and Guangzhou Evergrande.

Sanzhen, who were last season's runners-up, took the lead early on through a goal from their star striker, Zhang Yujia. The goal was well taken and sent the crowd into raptures as they watched the home team dominate possession.

Despite being behind, Guangzhou Evergrande did not give up hope and fought back valiantly. They created numerous chances throughout the game but could not find the back of the net until late in the second half when a stunning goal from Wu Lei secured them a draw.

It was a closely contested match and both sides will be disappointed to have left it level at the end. However, the result was a good start for both teams and sets the tone for what is expected to be another exciting season in the CSL.
