VfL Wolfsburg secured their third consecutive victory in the Bundesliga with a 3-1 win over Hertha BSC at the Veltins-Arena on Saturday night. The match saw the hosts take the lead early on through Enner Valencia's stunning strike from distance before Hertha responded and equalised just before half-time.
However, Wolfsburg responded with two quickfire goals in the second-half to secure all three points for themselves. The first came from the penalty spot after Enner Valencia was fouled by Hertha defender Julian Brandt, while the second was a fine goal from Marco Reus who finished off a well-worked move.
The result sees Wolfsburg climb up to fourth place in the table, just one point behind second-placed RB Leipzig. Enner Valencia was the standout player of the game, scoring twice and creating several chances for his teammates. Meanwhile, Hertha BSC remain in mid-table, but they will be hoping to turn things around soon as they host Union Berlin next weekend.
