Lens narrowly beat Nantes 2-1 in Ligue 1 on Sunday afternoon, with Openda scoring the winning goal late on to keep their hopes of securing a top-four finish alive.

The match was a closely contested affair throughout, with both sides creating chances but unable to find the back of the net until the final stages.

In the first half, Lens were dominant and created several opportunities through their well-drilled passing game, but they failed to convert any of them into goals.

However, things took a turn for the better in the second half as Lens began to exert more pressure on Nantes' defense. Openda made the breakthrough just before halftime when he scored a stunning header from close range.

Nantes responded immediately in the second half, but Lens were able to hold on to their lead thanks to some solid defending and some clinical finishing from their forwards.

Openda's goal was enough to secure all three points for Lens, who now sit in fourth place in the table, just two points behind third-placed PSG.

Despite losing, Nantes manager Christophe Galtier praised his team's performance and said that they will continue to work hard in order to secure a top-four finish.

Overall, it was another impressive display from Lens, who showed why they are one of the most consistent teams in Ligue 1 this season. With Openda scoring the winner and keeping their top-four hopes alive, there is still plenty of football left to be played.
